Oxbow River & Stream Restoration, Inc. provided client with site assessment, conceptual design, and complete construction for creek channel restoration and stabilization of Lazzaro Run, a tributary to the Chagrin State Scenic River. This solution included the application of the Rosgen Stream Classification system and the use of stable stream geometry relationships.

The restoration objective was to construct a stable channel geometry in response to upstream development and changing discharge volumes. Design solution created 450 linear feet of B type channel from an existing G channel.

Valley morphology consisted of rejuvenating side slopes with areas of mass wasting and rotational slope failures.

The project utilized root wads, tree revetments, live branch layering, rock weirs and veins, boulder steps, management and revegetation of the riparian zone.

Vegetation included organic soil amendments, short term stabilization and erosion control, native grasses, wildflowers and herbaceous plants and dogwood species.

Responsibilities included site survey and evaluation, design and construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates and cost / benefit analysis, management, construction, and installation of the various bioengineering techniques. Oxbow River & Stream Restoration, Inc. prepared and obtained COE permits for client.
